Best Herb Grinder for Vaporizing

A Volcano vaporizer without an herb grinder, is like a car without gas. Proper grinding of the herb prior to vaporizing is crucial; whether you’re using a Volcano, a Vapir or a Vapor Brothers Vaporizer – grind your herb!

How much to grind the herb? Very fine, but not so fine it falls through the screen! The more surface area you create by grinding, the more active ingredients the heat can release. You cannot prepare the herb effectively without a grinder. I recommend a dedicated herb grinder for your Volcano vaporizer.

Grind again? Sure why not. If you start with sticky herb that has some moisture you will only be able to get the grind so fine. After a few pulls or bag fillings, the herb will dry out – making it easier to grind fine for vaporizing.

Aluminum Herb Grinders, Electric Herb Grinders, Plastic Herb Grinders, Wood Herb Grinders, No Grinder

Herb Grinder for Your VaporizerAluminum Herb Grinders – Cadillac of herb grinders, machined from aluminum, durable long lasting, easy to clean. Great deals on aluminum herb grinders here. Our current recommended grinder is by far the Flower Mill.

Electric Herb Grinders – Step away from the coffee grinder! Grind your herb for your vaporizer with speed and no effort. These grinders offer handheld motorized herb grinding. Great deals on electric herb grinders here.

Maxine Electric Herb Grinder for Vaporizer

Plastic Herb Grinders – The Toyota of herb grinders, molded plastic, lightweight, cheap. You’ll get one free with your Volcano Vaporizer when you buy it from Storz and Bickel.

Wood Herb Grinders – The restored classic car of herb grinders. Nice to look at, and usually lightweight – but not practical for heavy use in my experience. Wood can warp, shrink and expand, making the grinder hard to turn. Great deals on wood herb grinders here.

Wooden Herb Grinder for Vaporizer

No Grinder – Use your fingers, chop with a razor blade, cut up with scissors. But whatever your do – don’t plop a whole bud in and expect results!

Where to get an herb grinder for your vaporizer – try your local head shop or any of the herb grinders for sale online here. Sweetleaf is my preference as they were an original and there are many low quality knock offs being produced now. Space Case also makes really nice high quality herb grinders out of machined aluminum.

Coffee Grinders – Need to grind a lot of herb in mere seconds? Check out coffee grinders.

Space Fucking Case! How can you guys not mention the rolls royce of grinders? That would go hand in hand with the rolls royce of vaporizing!

The coffee grinder idea is good. But I would definitely stay clear of plastic grinders. When you grind, little bits of plastic come off and you will end up smoking them. This is made worse if the grinder is from China where they put carcinogens in the plastic.

COFFEE GRINDERS! Seriously people, you can get new coffee grinders for under $10 at your local brick & mortar retailer. With an electric coffee grinder you can have your herb ground powder-fine, within seconds, if you so desire.

I purchased the Krups grinder (pictured on Frank’s posted dated Jan 5/13 – Problem I have is cleaning out the container – there seems to be a lot of herb powder left in there and scrapping with a spoon is taking forever to clean it all out – is there a brush or some other “tool” that will allow me to get ALL of the herb powder out of the grinder???

Can you post a picture of herb that has been properly ground?

You really want it as fine as you can get it. That’s going to depend on how dry the herb is to begin with. Imagine you were going to roll the herb up in a cigarette paper and smoke it. That’s a good fine-ness of grind to shoot for.

Where can you get a “fine” grinder? I here it is best to fine grind the herb before vaporizing.
