Volcano Vaporizer Cleaning Tips

Cleaning your new Volcano vaporizer can be a bit intimidating at first, with all the pieces and parts – but the cleaner you keep it, the better it will work. Here are a few basic tips for cleaning your vaporizer.

  • Take EVERYTHING apart COMPLETELY
    • Disassemble all components completely, including removing screens
    • Place everything in a small bowl, tupperware or ziploc bag to prevent losing anything (will also allow for soaking in cleaning solution.
    • Trouble removing the bag clamp (adjustable balloon fixation ring) on the valve that holds the bag in place? Simply push the ends of the clamp where they join together away from each other – so that the ends are next to each other – instead of interlocked.

    • Remove the metal filling chamber insert cylinder from the plastic housing or else cleaning solution may get stuck inside.
  • Soak in cleaning solution of your choice
    • Rubbing alcohol (spirit)
    • Formula420
    • Hot water + sea salt
  • Thoroughly scrub and rinse

Hey LM, I’d get in touch with Storz & Bickel – they have great customer service and I’m sure they can help you out. There’s a good chance the warranty will cover it. Good luck! Post back here to let us know how you make out.

I borrowed a friend’s Volcano Digit – used it with very satisfying results until today when I plugged it in and the temperature read 213 degrees initially. When I heated it up to the desired (and proven effective) temp, it wasn’t nearly hot enough. I think there may be a problem with calibration or the thermistor. Any suggestions? I’d like to get one of my own, but I don’t want to buy the busted one that a friend loaned me, ya know? :S Thanks!
