The Volcano Classic vaporizer uses a numbered dial for heat control. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll not need to refer to this table to get your Volcano temperature settings.
Dial No. | Celsius | Fahrenheit |
1 | 130 | 266 |
2 | 142 | 288 |
3 | 154 | 309 |
4 | 166 | 331 |
5 | 178 | 352 |
6 | 190 | 374 |
7 | 202 | 396 |
8 | 214 | 417 |
9 | 226 | 439 |
As nice and reliable they are, I’m pretty sure that they’re not all tuned the same. I sent mine in for repair after a bad drop; they ended up replacing and testing the bimetal regulator. Before my favorite setting was around 6.5, now i start it just slightly above 5. I’ve always filled 2-6 bags per pack (depending on the bag size, I use the solid valve) gradually turning it up as I go. Herb gets much darker now and is less potent than before when added to edibles. It still worked great when it wasn’t calibrated properly but the temperature scale above definitely doesn’t reflect what all volcanoes are producing.
I almost always use 7 or higher to start. Usually I fill it up All The Way, and when it and the cannabis are ready, fire away! Even on 9 it doesnt get anywhere close to Turning blackish, or catching on fire.
Amazing amount left in cannabis even at 9, sometimes i doubt the temp claim :p
I usually run 3-4 balloons with it set at around 6.5 so @ 200 and then save the leftovers.
Maybe I should try higher temps.
I use a temp setting of 5 and get the same amount of balloons. To me 6.5 seems to hot. I’ll try it and see. Do you stir your shit up after each balloon and try to make it finer each time. That seems to help get the good shit all out. What are you referring to as 200. Have a good one.
Temp 5 is below the temperature required for the CBD to boil, ~185C
377º on average for taste
save for more potent butter
(-_-)
397º
vape it once and save the rest for butter
[…] think I’ve finally settled on my preferred method for vaporizing my herb. I keep the Volcano’s temperature dial set at 6 all the time. I fill bags at this temp until I get nothing. Then I save my leftovers for […]
